You learn a lot in school, and teachers probably have the best job in the world, as the importance of education is undeniable, but you can’t learn it all in class.
Some things you would not learn in a classroom include:
1. Life is not fair get used to it
Life is not fair. At least not at all times so you either get used to it or get frustrated. It is certain that you will continue to see evidence of life’s unfairness in the future.
So what do you do about it?
What do you do given the fact that life is unfair?
You admit, accept, anticipate, adjust and adapt to life’s unfairness.
In school, you learn about debit, credit, and finances but many can admit they were not fully prepared for real-life adult expenses. Here are two key tips to note when spending,
Spend what’s left after saving.
Borrow money to make money or don’t borrow at all.
A self-care plan can help you enhance your health and wellbeing, manage your stress, and maintain a healthy life. Don’t approach a burnout or have an actual burn out before taking a break. It is important to take a break when necessary, as well as recognize your limits.
In school, you are rewarded for succeeding and punished for failing; you are given second opportunities and maybe have your mistakes pointed out. In the real-life, however, failure is to be expected.
Some of our most important lessons in life come from the biggest failures. Some people leave school, encounter their first set of failures, they hit a wall, and fall in a slump.
Don’t allow the fear of failure to kill your dreams. You have to be brave to take risks. Accept that failure is actually part of success, you will have breakthroughs
5. Some things are simply out of your control.
The classroom is a controlled environment. If something goes wrong, you can often quickly fix it or avoid it entirely. Outside the classroom, it is different as we no longer have control over things like before. The school system is static, unchanging. You have classes at a particular time, breaks are set, teachers are set and you probably interact with the same people most days. Life is everything but this.
Things and circumstances are constantly changing. Hence, to survive and prosper, you must adapt.
